I was thinking of get my eyebrows thread because my mum has been getting it done and her eyebrows look amazing at all times.

I decided that facial waxing was no longer an option for me because there is now solid proof that it is traumatic for the skin. Eyebrows and lips are the areas I would wax and as it turns out, that is the where the most damage occurs because of the sensitive tissues in those areas. Common side effects for facial waxing is increased breakdown of collagen and loss of elasticity so around the mouth that means lip line wrinkles, and for eyebrows it means sagging skin.

After done a bit of research on Google, I found Beautyfini salon in Canary Wharf, very closed to my apartment and has some nice reviews I thought I would give them a try.

I was terrified leading up to my appointment. It was a Saturday so I didn’t even bother getting dressed or doing more than putting a brush through my hair,

It won’t take long to find the salon; it’s located right next to footbridge along the waterside.

Upon arrival, the salon itself looks very modern and nice deco with very much difference from many salons I noticed on the high street. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. My therapist was Valentina ,a friendly and chatty person. She informed me the price and explained what going to happened It cost £9 for eyebrows threaded , I thought a reasonable price compare to some salons around Canary wharf area.

Before: Eyebrows all overgrown and messy

I thought it would be really painful, and I am terrible with pain, but when she did my right eyebrow first which is usually my least painful side. It felt strange, like an annoying, itchy file going over my skin. When it came to my left side, that hurt a bunch. It was a pain I could deal with, and I can rarely deal with any form of pain, so people with a normal pain tolerance would be fine.

In all she took around 10 minutes to do both brows, and it would have been quicker if I stopped squirming. I decided spur of the moment to do my lip as well. Valentina advised that the lip is one of the most painful places because there are hundreds of invisible hairs that you can’t see. I think she understated and very experiences. I had ever felt. Again, I am a huge wimp. Afterwards I was amazed at how smooth my lip was and despite the 5 minutes of unbearable torture, I will definitely keep going with it.

After: Both eyebrows are complete

Overall I am very happy with my first threading experience and I couldn’t recommend Beautyfini enough. The first couple of days I thought my brows looked way too thin but having remembered I had overgrown them on purpose, I had to get used to them actually having a shape. While my brows are much thinner than I have ever had before, I have received so many compliments and everyone has told me that it really makes my eyes stand out.
